Reading without an account
You can read the journal without creating a Checkpoint account. This site has no email signup form, payment form, or reader profile. We do not add third-party advertising pixels or behavioral analytics to these pages.
Saved stories stay in your browser
When you save a story, its identifier is stored using local storage on the device and browser you are using. That reading list is not sent to a Checkpoint database and does not sync across devices. You can remove stories individually or clear your list on the Saved stories page. Browser storage settings may also remove it.
Search and filtering
Journal search and topic filtering run in your browser using the public article index included with the site. We do not send your search terms to a separate search service.
Website delivery
The hosting provider may process technical request information to deliver and secure the website. These pages do not give Checkpoint access to your ChatGPT conversations. Any provider-level account or access features are governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy information.

If you follow a link to another website, that website’s privacy practices apply. This notice describes the features on these pages as published on 3 November 2026. It should be reviewed if data collection or site functionality changes.
